In 1992, I started working with Fidelity Ventures to build a business case for a regional fiber optic provider in London to take advantage of telecom deregulation that was emerging in Europe. The idea started as a one city network and in true entrepreneurial style was literally built from the ground up with a small motivated team. Fidelity shared the vision that COLT could be much larger than that. Over the past ten years, we grew COLT into the #1 pan-European business telecommunications provider. Now a publicly traded firm (NASDAQ:COLT), COLT's integrated IP network links 32 of Europe's financial and business centers in 13 countries. Fidelity was there supporting us every step of the way.
